1) Wear good supportive shoes with heel cushioning. Avoid flexible soft shoes and flip flops.
2) Avoid barefoot walking.
3) Properly stretch the Achilles tendon at the back of the heel
4) Maintain a healthy weight
5) When starting any type of exercise program, increase your time and intensity gradually.
